Practical shopping guidance

Shopping in Korea

Shopping areas, stores, markets, and retail spaces can work differently by business and location. Check posted guidance and ask staff directly when unsure.

Price Labels and Product Information

Check price labels, product details, size, color, quantity, and store guidance before purchase. Product availability and display information can vary.

Payment and Receipts

Payment methods and receipt procedures can vary by business. Ask staff directly before relying on one payment or receipt option.

Returns, Exchanges, and Store Policies

Return, exchange, packaging, receipt, and condition requirements can vary by store. Confirm current store policy details directly before relying on an option.

Tax Refund Preparation

Tax-refund eligibility, required documents, timing, procedures, participating businesses, and service availability can change. Confirm current details directly with official sources and the participating business before relying on them. Do not rely on a refund process until the store or official service confirms the current requirements.

Packing and Carrying Purchases

Keep purchase records and relevant travel documents organized. Check current carrier, airport, customs, and destination requirements directly before travel.
